Little Man
Evan, you are hilarious, Son. You make me smile with your personality. The day I took this picture was “Hat Day” at your school. You were not even two-years-old yet. Actually, about 1 year and 10 months to be exact.
You put the hat that Auntie Bea got for you one your cute little head and you seemed to become a star. A little Frank Sinatra. The truth is, Son, you already were a star and still are. Keep shining, Son. You will make the world smile… just like me.
Chip Off The Old Block
I love this picture! Finally, one of my kids actually looks like me.
Usually, people say (and I know I am blessed) “your kids are beautiful!”
To which my reply is usually, “You should see their mom… it would make more sense.”
But… Finally… One of them looks like me… at least in a picture.
This one acts like Read the rest of this entry »
The Not So Father’s Day, Father’s Day
You may know the plot, but not the story. As a child of divorced parents, an only child, and the husband of a child with divorced parents holidays and special events spell extra strain. Holidays are stressfull for the hosts in any case, but add the fact that you can’t be in two (or three) places at once to enjoy the holdiays with everyone in your family and it can be a nightmare.
So, how do I balance a nice relaxing day with my kids and honor the Father’s in my life without wearing myself out? A not Father’s Day, Father’s Day. That’s right. We’re going to do Father’s Day on Saturday this year.
Pop came up from Jacksonville and we invited my Suegro, Suegra, and my Mom for a Saturday cook out at our house. I wanted to honor two of the dads in my life by cooking my Coffee Crusted steak for them and have some good ole fashioned Father’s Day fun (not doing much of anything).
Yesterday was truly a great day. No drama. No nerves. Lots of laughing kids (including me) and lots of good food.
Of course there was some family that we missed yesterday, but we had a great time regardless. I beleive the key to yesterday’s success was no expectations about how the day would or should turn out.
The steaks rocked, the conversations flowed, and the kids danced into the night (including me). I cannot remember a better not Father’s Day, Father’s Day.
Special thanks to everyone that helped pull it off, especially my loving wife.
If you’re a dad, Happy Father’s Day. Hear your kids laugh everyday even if you have to tickle them.

You Have A Little Something On Your…

You know you’ve got a true friend on your hands when they’ll tell you about something on your face. Now this picture is funny because Evan is covered in chocolate and it will never cease to amaze me just how fast little kids can make a chocolate chip cookie look like Evan made this one look at the Knology Family Day at the Green Jackets Stadium.
Seriously though. Have you ever realized that you’ve had something on your face hours after you’ve eaten. Then you realize that there were tons of people that just let you think your appearance was fine? You secretly hated everyone of them, no?
Make sure you’re a good friend to the people in your life that have food or God forbid, a Buger on their face. TELL them.
If you think this picture is funny leave a comment and tell about a funny time that this happened to you.
Happy Birthday Evan!
Happy Birthday Evan
You’re probably wondering how one year could pass so quickly? Us too. This little guy gets more amazing everyday and if you’re not careful, you’ll miss something. This is one of my favorite pictures of him (although not taken on his November Birthday!).
