On the Road with Thelma & Louise
I scurried out to the mailbox a few weeks ago and found a familiar site. An envelope addressed to Amber and Myself with no return address on the front. There was an address on the back and that can mean only a couple of things. Somebody’s getting married or having a baby.
Within the last 10 years, Amber and I have been invited to attend and be apart of over 30 – 40 weddings. In our wedding alone there were 23 people in the wedding party and that is all we could fit in the ceremony. The Lord had blessed us with a lot of friends and we had a great time at all of the weddings.
When you have that many weddings in that amount of time, a pipeline of baby announcements is sure to ensue and they have. We have seen more than our fair share of save the dates for baby showers and birth announcements. So when we got one on that cold January day it was no different…until I opened that invitation.
This one was for a baby shower for my cousin Lisa. She was recently married to her long time beau, Maverick Thacker and they are now expecting. We were ecstatic about going down to Valdosta for the shower. My cousin Rodney, who is more like a brother to me, and his wife Julie are the party hosts. Now that made us even happier because we have been dying to see the home they just finished building and moved into.
Waiting for the trip down was like waiting for the last day of school as a kid. We just couldn’t Read the rest of this entry »
I Really Was Afraid
I really was afraid to go out to eat Tuesday night. The day I had was just awful. I don’t mean that in a sly, get you to read my thoughts, kind of way. I mean it was really awful. Read the next post for more details…
Nothing goes together like salt & pepper… except maybe pizza and beer.
Kiss Me, I’m Irish
St. Patrick’s Day, here we come! This kid is in trouble. Between St. Patty’s Day and Cinco de Mayo we are in for it. Oh, well. She came by it honestly.
Wii Love to Bowl
Wii love to bowl! April got Kenn a Wii for Christmas and honestly bowling rocks! Last Friday night, we bowled like we were on the league. Hell, like we were the champions of the league. The only things missing were the chili dogs and the cheap draft beer. April pulled out a surprising win or two and made me feel like I got “Munsoned“. I fantasized about being “Big Earn McCrackin” from King Pin. Amber and Kenn seemed to bowl as if it were second nature to them. And I had a very disappointing night in the lanes not even breaking a 200. It’s tough to win on the Wii circuit. Winning means bragging rights for the next full week. As you can see here, April is a natural. Look at that form. That poise. That Championship finishing stance… Well you get the picture.
Traveling Home
Copy Cat
As Gabby begins to talk more and more, she also copies EVERYTHING!
We really have to be careful. The other day, I got mad at one of the dogs and yes, she got mad too. Good thing I didn’t spew curse words like I would normally do. Call it divine intervention if you want. I just asked Chase what he was doing. When he didn’t answer me, Gabby decided to give it a try. He didn’t listen to either of us, but that didn’t stop the Gabster from telling him to stop anyway.
She copies me, Amber, April…literally anyone that can be copied. Her dolls don’t even go uncopied either. As you can see, Gabby copied “Flat Dora” and “Princess Dora” as they lay lifeless on the kitchen floor.
I just hope she doesn’t try to copy the dogs when the go to the bathroom.
That would give a new meaning to potty training.
Halloween Night
Halloween is here along with lots of candy and tummy aches. Goblins and Gouls take the place of little boys and girls and skeletons and witches come out of the darkness for this one time a year. Not to mention little pirates. Especially girl pirates! Aaaaarrrrggh!
Gabby wasn’t nearly as tired as mom and dad…she didn’t walk much either. She did have a great time. By the last house she had gotten used to the idea, but still wouldn’t say trick-or-treat.
ONE DAY LEFT….HOW FRIGHTENING
Only one day left until Halloween. What a frightening thought. Soon there will be little Spidermans, Power Rangers, and one very sweet little Pirate (complete with patch). Parents will rush home to get kids ready, suppers will be cast aside for candy, and tummy aches will soon follow.
Actually that is pretty frightening. Perhaps we will all survive…perhaps.

It all began at 5am on Tuesday Morning. The rest is coming soon…

Gabby is only accustomed to the finer things… That’s right. Mom is teaching her well. Now she is into having her hair dried with Mommy’s hair dryer.
