How To Set Up Blackberry Call Forwarding

Is this really possible?

You bet.  And it’s easy.

Why would you do this?
You might want to have an important call come straight through to where you are without letting your location be known.
You might want to simplify the channels by which someone can get in touch with you.  Therefore you only give out your BB number.

Regardless…

Here’s what you do:

  1. Hit the Green Call Button
  2. Hit the Blackberry Wheel and select “Full Menu”
  3. Select “Options”
  4. Select “Call Forwarding”
  5. You should see your voice mail number programmed in there.
  6. You can change this and change it back when ever you like.

For Verizon and Other CDMA Technology Users

You will need to

  1. dial *72 + the number you want to forward to to turn on Call Forwarding
  2. dial *73 to turn it off

There is no option for Call Forwarding on Verizon as listed in the 6 steps at the top.  You’ll have to use the 2 steps immediately above.

Remember Minute Usage applies for all forwarded calls.
