Product Review – Discovery Kids Digital Camera
Memories are made by people. Cameras are used to record those memories. If you were one of the lucky kids like me, you got a camera when you were a little kid. The wonder that comes with that camera is hard to explain as an adult.
It was like being a pirate on an adventure or like Indiana Jones discovering and a new world.
My pictures were from an instant development camera (kinda like a polaroid).
When my daughter became interested in taking pictures I was thrilled. I took her on a hike and let her use the family’s digital camera. A little sophisticated for a 4 year old, but she’s a quick learner. We had a blast. She took some really great pictures. (Gabby’s 1st Hike).
I spoke with Amber about getting her a “good” Camera for Christmas. One that she could keep with her at all times if she wanted to. I was thinking about getting her a less expensive “grown-up camera” and letting her learn about how to take care of one. (probably by destroying one).
We settled on a Discovery Kids Digital Camera. The mega-pixels were a bit low 1.something, but we were going for durability and function. Not masterpiece artwork.
We got none of those.
Durability – The Power button broke within a week. It just broke.
Quality – The pictures are kinda like those you take with your phone at a concert. You can’t tell who’s in them and your vision is a little blurry
.
Function – It was easier to teach Gabby how to use our Family digital camera than to use this one.
All in all, I would not buy this again.
You are better off buying a REAL digital camera for a $20 bucks more and letting it get destroyed. It would probably last longer than this thing did.
