What’s Your Jordan?

Today we begin the final book of he Pentateuch, Deuteronomy. This book is Moses final literary work and more importantly it is the passionate retelling of Israel’s story before the Israelites cross the Jordan River. Moses knows at this point that he will not go with the Israelites into the Promise Land so he will name a successor, bless the people one final time, and die.

What Jordan’s are you facing in Your Life? That’s the question I asked myself after listening to the reading of God’s Word this morning. What is standing between you and the Promise Land? What has God put on your heart that you have become afraid to do? Based on your own understanding, what have you begun to be afraid of doing because of what you have seen or heard.

I tell you the truth,

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

We all face things the we feel we cannot make it through or that scare us. When I do I try to remember this passage in Proverbs. Another passage that is good to remember is:

Not a spirit of fear, but a Spirit of power, love, and of sound mind.
Can you guess where in the Bible this passage is from? Leave it in the comments if you do.
